Certified in Hospital Psychology, CHPSM
The American Psychotherapy Association is excited to announce a new credential, Certified in Hospital Psychology. Psychology has entered nearly every aspect of our lives. For psychologists looking to expand their skill sets and influence individuals outside the typical clinical setting, hospital psychology can be a rewarding career opportunity. - Be a licensed psychologist
- Hold a doctoral degree*
- Submit the following documentation: CHP application, current resume/CV, and professional license
- Successfully complete the online examination
- Successfully complete the oral examination
Special permission may be granted to the following individuals on a case-by-case basis: students finishing their doctoral degree in psychology, individuals who are completing their residency, and/or individuals working under 1 year of supervision.
*Applicants who have obtained their education outside of the United States and its territories must have their highest academic degree(s) validated as equivalent to a Master’s or Doctorate degree conferred by an accredited college or university in the United States.
